Therefore besides the sander and sandpaper, you need to make sure that you have a vacuum cleaner, a pry bar, safety glasses, a dust mask, ear plugs and a hammer and some nails. Once you have your equipment ready you need to prepare the floor. Make sure you remove any loose floor boards or nails that there might be and replace them.

Thing that you need to keep in mind

Before you start the floor sanding process, there are a few things that you need to keep in mind to make your job easier. The first thing that you need to remember is that you need to make sure that jobs like covering / painting of your walls etc has already been done. Flooring should always be the last job. Remove items like curtains etc from the room. Make sure that you seal off all vents and gaps in doors and windows etc. to keep the dust from leaving the room. You also need to make sure that your wiring and fuse is functioning properly or you could blow a circuit.

Safety tips

Floor sanding can be an unsafe procedure if you do not follow precautionary measures with the equipment and in the surroundings. The most important thing that you need to remember is that sand dust is extremely flammable. Therefore smoking and having open flames in the area is not advisable. You also need to make sure that you empty the sander bags often and the container is kept outside the room.
